Notice anything different?

Notice anything different about Annie in this picture? I'll give you a hint...Look at her ears!!! She has been asking to get her ears pierced for about a year now. She made the "A" Honor Roll this whole school year, and her "A" in reading was not just any "A". It was hard earned!!! She has worked hours every night with hardly any complaining at all. I decided that this would be the perfect time to let her get her ears pierced because I was not going to make her wait until she was 12 like my mother did I am so proud of her!!!

Go Sundrops!!!

Annie is playing softball this year for the first time. Her team is an ABS team and they are the Sundrops! Today was opening day. It started with a parade from Athens High School all the way to the Cowart Ballfields. All the teams were recognized out on the field and there was a balloon release. We didn't win our first game, but the girls did great and we were all really proud of them. We were definately the cutest team out there in our lime green and pink!

More to come...

I am going to try to do better with my blogging. No, this is not an April Fool's joke!!! We just really haven't had that much going on. Opening day of softball starts this weekend with a parade and Easter is coming up, so I should have new pictures to be posting soon. Stay tuned...

Pray for Stellan

I added a "Pray for Stellan" button to the side of my blog. If you click on it, you can read about this sweet baby and his amazing mom who need all the prayers they can get. I don't personally know them, but I've been reading MckMama's blog for so long that I feel like I do. Stellan was diagnosed with a heart condition before he was born but was born perfectly healthy. The heart condition has come back and the doctors are having a hard time treating him. Reading about things like this make me realize how truly blessed I am and that when my three are bouncing off the walls and I am ready to pull my hair out, I should be down on my knees thanking God that they are healthy enough to do that!

Happy Birthday Annie!

If there is anyone out there still reading my blog, here are some pictures from Annie's birthday. We didn't do a big party this year. We just had a small family party and she got a special day out with a friend.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Thanks, Becky for passing on this prestigious blog award to me. I'm not sure that my blog can be described as "fabulous", but I'll take it. And for those of you that don't know, in return for this award, you have to confess 5 of your addictions. So after thinking this over and a little help from my mom, here it goes...(in no particular order)

1. Blogs. I love to read people's blogs. It doesn't even matter if I know them or not. What's really weird is when you recognize someone in Wal-Mart just because you read their blog and you feel like you should go up and speak to them even though they have no clue who you are. No, I've never done this, I just said I've felt like I should.
2. Tea. Unsweet tea, that is. From Wendy's. Yes, I know that it is cheaper to make your own, but for some reason, I have trouble making tea. Don't ask! I go by every night and get a large unsweet tea to take to work with me the next day. I used to go to Captain D's every night when we lived in town, but now Wendy's is closer AND they have a drive-thru. They call me the "tea lady" and know to give me three packs of Sweet and Low with my tea! This is very embarrassing to Brent. But I have to say, there have been a few times that he has surprised me by stopping and getting my tea for me. Isn't that sweet? He's so romantic! :-)
3. Weight Watchers. I don't know why they just don't go ahead and make me a lifetime member. I've been going all my life. I'm sure I hold the record for the number of times joining. I have good intentions, it just seems like every time I sign up things start coming up and I can't go to the meetings. I don't always stay faithful to it, but I do enjoy taking recipes and turning them into Weight Watcher friendly recipes. And yes, i did join back this past week. I just took my new recipe out of the oven. Blueberry Bran Muffins.
4. Little Girls Clothes. My mother pointed this one out to me, although I am not near as bad as some people are. Annie definately does have more than she needs, but after two boys, the smocked pink stuff is sooo cute! Oh, and the Kelly's Kids and Chez Ami!!! I don't have much longer to dress her in the cute stuff so I will enjoy it while I can. It is already getting hard to find things in her size that doesn't have the "hoochi mama" look to it!
5. Lost. I love this show. It is not the kind of show that I normally watch. I usually don't get into any kind of sci-fi or time travel type shows, but I have gotten hooked on Lost. Season 5 starts in a couple of weeks!
So, there you have it. My top five addictions. I'm sure I have others, but just trying to come up with five was harder than I thought.

Happy New Year!!!

For New Years Eve, the whole Simmons crew went to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. We went to Gatlinburg for New Years Eve and watched as they dropped the ball from the Space Needle followed by fireworks. On New Years Day, we rode over to Maggie Valley and went to TubeWorld to have some fun in the snow. It ended up just being me, Brent, Brandon, and Jake. Me and Brent had fun, but Brandon and Jake definitely got their money's worth!

Now for Christmas!

Lots to catch up on!!!

I'm just not very good at this blogging thing. I'm not sure if it's because we are just sooo busy and I don't have time or because we just aren't very exciting and I don't have much to post about. But I will try to catch you up on what went on at our house before Christmas...

Jake and Jared both had birthdays.

Jared turned 9.

and Jake turned 13!!! I can't believe that I have a teenager now!!!

Last, but not least, Annie lost her 1st tooth!
